Delete your Move Rides account
This page applies to both the Move Rides passenger app and the Move Rides Driver app, operated by Mabakhona Projects (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2020/247086/07).
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Move Rides app you use.
- Sign in to your account.
- Open Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Review what will be deleted and confirm. If your account uses email sign-in, enter your password to confirm it is you.
You must finish or cancel any active trip before deleting your account.
If you cannot open the app
Email moveridessa@gmail.com with the subject Move Rides account deletion request, or send a WhatsApp message to 064 014 2463. Include:
- the name on the account;
- the mobile number used for Move Rides; and
- whether it is a passenger or driver account.
Never send your password or access code. We will reply with a safe way to confirm your identity before we delete anything.
What is deleted
Deletion removes or disconnects your:
- name, mobile number and email sign-in;
- profile portrait and emergency-contact details;
- active sessions, registered devices and notifications;
- unused access codes and access requests;
- trip-chat messages, guest details, trip notes and pickup PINs; and
- identifiable feedback comments.
For drivers, deletion also takes the driver offline, suspends the driver profile and deactivates the linked vehicle record.
What may be kept
We may keep anonymised trip, accounting, safety and audit records for up to 3 years where needed for legal, financial, safety or dispute-resolution purposes. These records no longer identify you.
How long it takes
We acknowledge emailed or WhatsApp deletion requests within 3 business days and complete a verified request within 30 days, unless a legal or safety reason requires us to keep something longer. Deleting your account in the app takes effect immediately.
